Newton North High School attained sustainable design goals for energy efficiency, indoor air quality, and water efficiency that were integrated into the components needed for occupant comfort.
Flexible Space for a Variety of Programs and Learning Styles
The new facility provides students with a broad range of educational opportunities, accommodating the school’s strong academic program and designated spaces for STEM, such as a robotics lab, a technology lab, and engineering classroom space. Vocational technical programs include a culinary arts kitchen, pottery studio, darkroom suite, carpentry, and auto shop. The programs are supported with state-of-the-art technology, a library media commons containing collaborative learning spaces, break-out rooms for group work, and individual study areas.
State-of-the-Art Athletic and Performance Venues
The school’s athletic program is supported with a full complement of athletic fields and facilities including a natatorium, field house, indoor track, competition gym, and a 2000-seat stadium. The City is well known for its theatrical program, and the 650-seat performance and more intimate “black box” theaters offer new and exciting opportunities.
