Dore & Whittier’s design team used a nearby fire station as inspiration for the new 120,000 sq. ft. Clinton Elementary School. By extracting lines and details from the historic restored station, the project created an impressive streetscape that conjoins and integrates the two buildings. The final result is not only a rich academic environment for the school’s students, but also a heightened downtown vitality and sense of civic pride from the harmonious convergence of architectural past and present.
Recognized for Outstanding Design in Libraries/Media Centers by American School & University and received Vermont's AIA Merit Award.
